QS has released the subject wise ranking of Universities for the year 2016. Top 300 universities of Each subject have been ranked based on different factors, including Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Citations per Paper & H-index Citations.
Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore’s has been ranked in the 251-300 band. This is the first time in the history of UET that it has been ranked in a subject. Although the general ranking of UET is 701-800, Electrical Engineering has outperformed other departments and has managed to achieve this ranking.
In the subject of Electrical Engineering, only two institutes of Pakistan have managed to get a spot in the subject wise ranking. National University of Science and Technology ( NUST) has been ranked in the 201-250 rank, while UET in the 251-300 band. It is pertinent to mention here that in the 251-300 band, institutes such as the University of Massachusetts Amherst, University of Pittsburgh, Washington State University, Beijing University of Technology, TU Dortmund University, Tel Aviv University, Yokohama National University & Iowa State University have been included.
