Punjab Government is taking measures to decrease the unemployment. In this line many projects are functioning to empower the youth with skills, decisions and jobs. It was said by Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman while addressing at University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore on the inaugural ceremony of 2-days ‘Industrial Open House and Career Fair-16’. He expressed that the public-private partnership can be supportive to engage the youth and it will also assist the varsities to produce the skillful persons as per requirement of industry. This approach will bring a collective effort to boost up the economy and change the conditions of masses. He explored that government is making efforts to bring the industry on the track to progress and prosperity effectively in present scenario. On the other end government is encouraging the entrepreneurship to channelize the determinations for the development of people. At the occasion Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid said that the linkage between academia and industry can get rid the country of crises at large. Then the real objective of research and development will be fully accomplished. He said that UET is producing quality of skilled persons. In this regards, industry should come forward to hunt the talent for the growth.He emphasized the industry to collaborate with university for flourishing the economy. He urged the youth to equip themselves with latest trends and technologies to cop the challenges of future. In the ceremony the Convener of the event Prof. Dr. Muhammad Pervaiz Mughal while briefing the audience about the IOHCF’ 16 said that this sort of initiative brings the academia and industry close to each other and share the ideas and expertise to assemble the efforts for betterment of land. He said that job opportunities and internships offered by industry shows the symbolof coordination and cooperation between the stakeholders. So this kind of measures must be remained continued in future. Keeping in mind more than 100 companies participated in the event and 50 plus stalls were displayed where recruit process was done. The students of the final year presented themselves with their projects and skills which they learnt in series of event connected with this mega fair. At the end Vice-ChancellorProf. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid presented crest to Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman. It is pertinent to mention here that today is the last day of the Career Fair-2016.
